Hockey Families,

Recently, HNS President Chad Bowker announced that Tomorrow’s Ice will take over the administration and program execution of the Harford North Stars Youth Hockey Club starting with the 2021-2022 season.  Ed Slusher, Jason Slusher, and I (Mike Shramek) are looking forward to implementing our vision for the future of youth hockey within our community.  Working together with coaches, players, and parents we have a unique opportunity to expand upon the growth and development of youth hockey right here at Ice World.

Our team of experienced hockey leaders will assist with supporting the efforts and vision set in motion years ago by HNS founder, Ray Uroda, and the HNS Board of Directors. The partnership between Tomorrow's Ice and HNS, with the full support of Ice World and Black Bear Sports, will help enhance the hockey product delivered to our membership. Our system, combined with the club's passion to succeed, will create a youth hockey experience that has been proven to show consistency in player skill development, membership growth, increased player interest, and player retention.  We believe that the players’ experience is the clubs’ success!  This success is what leads to the long-term sustainability of hockey at Ice World.

We are actively working with the current HNS Board of Directors to develop and implement our plan to create a world-class hockey organization.  Taking a collaborative approach, our focus will remain on providing an opportunity for all players at all levels to have a place to play hockey here at Ice World. Meeting this vision is no small task and will surely take time, energy, passion, and support from our local hockey community. Ice World is home to an amazing group of players and families...whom we are thrilled to work with and eager to get started!

In the coming weeks, we will provide further detail on the structure of our 2021-2022 hockey program offerings. Under the guidance of Ed Slusher, Ice World's most familiar face (or beard), much of the upcoming hockey season will remain unchanged for both TI Selects and HNS.  We will, however, introduce a few new programs that will enhance the hockey experience for our aspiring athletes! Examples of these offerings include:

· More robust in-house hockey league,

· Newly appointed Girls Hockey Coordinator, AJ Cimaszewski,

· Expanded program options for our 6U/8U players,

· More efficient skill development across all age levels,

· Opportunities for further coaching education/resources, and more!

Additionally, teams within our program will now have the ability to compete across ALL levels of competition. We will have access/membership to five leagues offering a variety of playing levels.  These include our traditional local partners in the CCHL (Capital Corridor Hockey League) and CBHL (Chesapeake Bay Hockey League) along with more regional based leagues like the EJEPL (Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League), and the AHF (Atlantic Hockey Federation).  Our older, more experienced teams will participate in the ECEL (East Coast Elite League).

For the first time in its history, Ice World will offer the most comprehensive hockey development, training, and program line-up ever working together for your benefit.  Having both the TI Selects and the HNS running simultaneously as one unit, will generate a much greater pool of successful athletes who have fallen in love with this sport.

We are encouraged by the initial feedback we have received and are excited to get to work. Please stay tuned as more exciting hockey info will follow, including details about 2021/2022 tryouts, upcoming spring/summer clinics, programs, and tournament teams.

Sincerely,

Mike Shramek
